Piercing My Nose

When I was growing up, I would see girls in middle school with many piercings. The

ones that caught my eye were the nose piercings they had and the double ear piercings. I was

really into this, so I searched for the right

placements. I would be by myself when I

would pierce my nose because I had no

permission to be thinking of things like that. I

decided to try when both of my parents were

not home.

I locked the door to my room since they

would always walk in without knocking. I tried poking the needle through my nose slowly, but it

hurt too much. So, I took an ice cube and numbed the spot. I was shaking so much because of

how scared I was of not putting it in the right place. Placement is key when piercing because if

you pierce the wrong spot, there can be serious infection and bleeding. The ice was a mistake. It

made it much harder to go through and caused more pain. After 20 minutes, I finally got it

through. No blood came out which made me feel much better and confident since I felt like I did

not know what I was doing. I decided to pierce myself again since it was successful the first

time.

Afterward, when I was finished with everything, I became really nervous thinking of the

consequences of my actions, especially from my mom, but I decided to show her. I didn't want
