2019 Changing of the Guard
Chief Timothy Albright was sworn in on September 03, 2019 as Elk Grove’s fourth Police Chief
since its formation on July 1, 2006. Chief Albright has been with the Elk Grove Police Department
since 2006. Chief Albright served as a K-9 Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Patrol Watch Commander,
Professional Standards Commander, Investigations Division Commander, and Operations Division
Commander prior to his promotion. Chief Albright is the recipient of the Silver Star for Bravery, a
three-time recipient of the Bronze Star for Bravery, three-time recipient of the Life-Saving Medal,
and a five-time recipient of the Major Incident Ribbon.
