Volunteer Programs
Community Ambassadors
Our Community Ambassadors are local volunteers
that serve as a community liaison, providing a direct
point of communication for our residents and
spreading awareness about events and opportunities
within our community. Our Ambassadors attended
various events throughout Elk Grove to include: the
Western Festival, Comedy Under the Stars, the
opening of the new Aquatics Center, Food Truck
Mania, and neighborhood back to school picnics. The
goal of the Community Ambassadors is to engage in
meaningful dialogue with Elk Grove residents. In
2019, our Ambassadors attended over 50 events!
In 2019, Elk Grove PD had 36 active
Community Ambassadors!
Explorers
The EGPD Explorer program is for young adults
between the ages of 14-20 who are interested in a
career in Law Enforcement. The program teaches
participants basic law enforcement techniques and
principals in an interactive setting. In 2019, we had
between 15-24 Explorers participate in over 3,690
hours of trainings, volunteering, and community
events. The Explorers competed in multiple

competitions; earning three 1 place trophies!
