1.0 PREAMBLES

1.1 INTRODUCTION

The Client is intent on modifying a number of existing restaurants to be fitted with a
new kitchen and digital order control system collectively referred to as Made-for-You
(MFY) or Restaurant of the Future (RoTF).

The proposed modifications will include the following:

 A new centre island beverage centre
 A new counter and digital menu display screens
 Self-order kiosks

The modifications may also include the following optional items:

 New Toilets
 Hot and Cold Water Services
 Additional Drainage / Drainage Modification
 Additional Rainwater System / modifications
 Relocation of Gas Meter

The Contractor is to provide design and construction information based on the
information in this specification and drawings and information provided by others
described herein.

1.2 GENERAL BUILDING SERVICES PREAMBLES

The Contractor shall immediately notify the Project Manager of any conflict arising
between any of the Contract documents.
Where these general clauses conflict with other Contract clauses, unless otherwise
notified by the Project Manager the following general hierarchy is to be followed; main
Contract preliminaries take precedence over General MEPH Preambles.
Where conflict arises between the Technical documents, unless otherwise notified by
the Project Manager the following general hierarchy is to be followed; Particular
Specification over Tender Drawings.
1.2.1 Site Visit

The Contractor may, during the course of preparing his tender, request to visit a site to
assess the works and shall be deemed to have done so. By his own observations,
investigations and enquiries he is to make himself fully acquainted as to the nature,
extent and practicability of the works. No claim based upon want or lack of knowledge
which could be reasonably deemed to have been apparent from visiting the site prior
to tender shall be allowed.
