1.2.7 Builderswork
All bases, holes through structures, positions for brackets, chases etc, are to be detailed
by the Contractor either on drawings submitted in accordance with dates or agreed by
marking out on site in advance. The Contractor is to be fully responsible for the correct
positioning.
Where the formation of holes, cutting away etc, might adversely affect the building
structure, drawings detailing those requirements are to be prepared by the Contractor
and submitted to the Project Manager (PM) for approval.
The Contractor is to provide all necessary fixing devices. Where brackets require to be
built into the structure, sufficient detailed drawings or templates for all items requiring
foundation bolts or other fixtures and for all plant required to be built into, or
otherwise affecting the structure are to be provided for comment by the design team.
The Contractor is to ensure that the foundation levels for plant, bedding or grouting in
of plant on foundations and bases, and grouting in of other fixings are adequately and
properly performed.
The Contractor shall arrange for the construction of all builders work ducts, excavation,
back filling and reinstatement of all trenches, including the installation of service
marker posts. The Contractor is to detail the routes of these services on dimensioned
drawings submitted to the PM for approval. These drawings are to form part of the
project CDM file and are to be made available immediately after the service has been
laid. The drawings are to ultimately be incorporated in the O & M Manuals.
The Contractor is to make allowance for the supply and installation of fire stopping of
all trunking, trays, pipework, ductwork and for all equipment and services passing
through fire compartments.
1.2.8 Site Meetings and Reports
The Contractor is to have a representative in attendance when required at any site
meetings. The M & E Coordinator is to be fully conversant and familiar with the scope
and details of the Contract, the Contract programme, labour resources etc., and be
authorised to take any action and make any decision necessary. The Contractor is to
allow at least one day a week for this purpose.
1.2.9 Protection and Handling
All works, both during and after installation, until the completed project is handed over
to the Client, are to be suitably and adequately protected against damage by other
trades or by water or frost. Such protection is to be dismantled and removed from site
immediately prior to handover.
The Contractor is to be responsible for the correct ordering, taking delivery, storage,
protection and safe custody of all goods, plant and materials necessary for the correct
execution of the work.
This is to include all items incorporated within the installation, including any
plant/equipment or Client equipment and any supplied by Contractor's Sub-
Contractors.
The Contractor is to include all costs associated with these requirements.
