within the detail of the building in a compatible manner with the structural and
architectural requirements.

The Contractor is to prepare fully dimensioned drawings and issue two sets to the
Project Manager for comment prior to works being executed.

Any installation carried out by the Contractor (in connection with builders work)
without prior submission and comment of installation drawings, as described above, is
to be at the Contractor's risk. Comments on the drawings shall not relieve the
Contractor of this responsibility for their accuracy.

Installation drawings are to ensure that accessibility for commissioning, inspection and
maintenance is achieved and all provisions necessary in compliance with this clause are
to be included within the Contractor's builders work drawings.

Builders Work Information

Drawings and/or schedules prepared by the Contractor to show requirements for
architectural or structural provisions necessary to facilitate the execution of the
Contract Works and allow its integration into the contract. Such drawings are to
include requirements for ducts, holes, chases, trenches, foundations, bases and
supporting structures for plant or equipment and all related making good
requirements. Such drawings are to be submitted to the Project Manager via the
Contractor in accordance with the Contract Conditions and agreed programme.

The Contractor is to, by reference to the drawings, be responsible for ascertaining that
his works are fixed correctly in relation to the elements of the building and any special
features or fittings attached to it and is to take all reasonable precautions to ensure
that a good appearance is achieved to the Project Managers satisfaction.

Where drilling or cutting of structural members is required to be done by the
Contractor, then special application in writing with sketch drawings must be made to
the PM and approval received before any structural steelwork or pre-stressed concrete
is cut or drilled.

Record Drawings, Maintenance Manuals and Operating Instructions

During the progress of the Works, the Contractor is to record on drawings in an
approved manner, the information necessary for preparing the installation record
drawings. The marked up drawings are to be made available to the PM for inspection
and checking at regular intervals.

Two weeks after the date of Practical Completion, the Contractor is to provide record
drawings as specified in this section.

If the Contractor fails to produce for the PM approval either:

  1. The marked up drawings as required during the progress of the Works
  2. The record drawings at the date required

The Client may instruct the PM to provide these drawings with whatever assistance the
PM deems necessary. The cost of preparing such drawings shall be deducted from the
outstanding payments.

The Contractor is to furnish to the PM upon practical completion of the works copies of
a Maintenance Manual/Operating Instructions as indicated below.
