1.8 Kiosk Positioning
The positioning of the kiosks in the restaurant is critical in order to maximise their effectiveness.
Operational considerations need to be considered as well as physical constraints when positioning
the kiosks. The location of the kiosk should be carefully considered. This document can only give
some advice. The positioning of kiosk should take into account the following but it is the
responsibility of the local McDonald’s Operations team to define the final position of the kiosks:
a) The installation of the kiosk should be in a place sheltered from the weather and within a
temperature range of 0 ° and 40°C, kiosks should be installed so that they do not restrict the
movement of people or block any evacuation routes.
b) The NGK 32” kiosk should be installed more than 1 meter from a point where rain could
enter the restaurant. Kiosk should be absolutely fixed to the ground before any use in
accordance with the installation manual to avoid any risk of the kiosk falling.
c) Place the kiosks close to the main stream of customers entering the restaurant and near where
the customers normally queue for the counter. The kiosk must be easily visible to customers
entering the restaurant and if space allows place the kiosks together, next to each other.
d) The customers have to be able to see, from their position in front of the kiosk, the next stages
of the order process. They have to have a clear site of the order collection point (possible by
turning around but no other movement should be necessary). Dimensions below are in mm.
