A member of the public has a question that you do not have the answer
for
Find out the details of the question, inform the member of the public that
you do not know the answer but you will find out for them. Speak to
your Team Leader or designated person or other members of your team.
They will either speak to the member of the public or give you the
information to relay to them. Keep the member of the public informed

First language isn’t English and you cannot understand what they are
saying
Use visual aids and non-verbal communication, such as maps, leaflets,
signs, seek help from your team members who may be able to assist you.
You may be able to use apps on your phone for translation. Listen actively
and check for understanding often
Expect that misunderstandings may occur. Don’t get frustrated be polite
and helpful
