Defining Diversity

It is the characteristics, values, beliefs and factors that make people
           different:
It can include not only religion and values but also age, size, sexual
orientation, disability, different cultures and age

The population in Greenwich and visitors to Greenwich are diverse
People are different in the way they look, dress, how they behave, what
they believe in, where they work or where they live, which gender they
are or how old they are.

Where do we encounter diversity as an event volunteer?
You will encounter diversity in your team
You will encounter diversity in visitors to the event

As a Event Programme Volunteer you need to be able to work and
engage with a wide range of people

Tips to being inclusive and working with a diverse range
           of people
We all have our own values and beliefs and our own individualities. We
may believe in different religions, we may have strong views on drinking
or smoking, we may encounter members of our team and customers who
have different way of life to ourselves or have different needs to
           ourselves

We can’t know everything about differences but what we can do is:

          • Be respectful • Be professional
          • Be observant • Strive to improve the
