DISPENSARY WORKFLOW
Your branch’s dispensary reflects the professional service that we offer
our customers. It should be clean, organised and suitable for our teams
to work safely and efficiently. This area should not feel chaotic with
colleagues getting in each other’s way.
Please ensure that colour-coded baskets are used for
dispensing:
• Red - Walk-in prescriptions
• Blue - Repeat patients and collection service
• White - Delivery patients
Below is an example of good workflow taken from the National Patient
Safety Agency (Design for Patient Safety: A guide to the design of
the dispensing environment).
Your Regional Manager and Operational Lead can help you to assign
areas of work and ensure that your branch has a clear flow process.
