DISPENSARY FRIDGE

Unlike domestic refrigerators, specialised pharmacy fridges are
carefully designed to safely store medicines in line with manufacturer’s
instructions. The dispensary fridge needs to be an appropriate size for
the number of bags and medication that your branch uses. If it is too
small, speak to your Regional Manager.

Please ensure that:
• Temperature checks are recorded daily
• Only medication is to be stored in the fridge and stock is tidy and
organised in baskets or banded together if possible

• No stock is stored on the floor of the fridge
• Dispensed medication should be in a clear bag with the script in
the bag
