WALK-IN PRESCRIPTIONS

These are generally prescriptions that have just been collected from
the prescriber or are acute prescriptions for things like antibiotics or
painkillers. By dispensing these promptly, we can demonstrate great
customer service and exceed the customer’s expectations.

Please ensure that:
• A red basket is used to assemble walk-in prescriptions

• Where possible the front bench is only used for assembling and
checking walk-in prescriptions

• If a large prescription is to be dispensed, you ask another colleague
to assist you to dispense this where possible, so that you can
concentrate on other prescriptions. Keep the customer informed
that other prescriptions may be ready before theirs
