    PRESCRIPTION OWINGS

Occasionally, when there is insufficient stock to fill the prescription an
‘owing’ must be created. Inform the customer of the expected date the
item will be available, giving you enough time to assemble the item.
For example, if your delivery arrives at 10am, do not ask the patient to
come in before this time. They will be frustrated at the additional wait.

When the stock arrives complete the owing prescription. Do not wait
for the patient to call in with the owing slip.

    Please ensure that:
    • Owing prescriptions are stored in an A-to-Z box by surname

    • The owed item is added to the order pad.
    • You investigate promptly if the stock has not arrived
    • Stock holding is reviewed to ensure a future ‘owing’ will not be
       created
