Operational Excellence Guide
SERVICES
With the pharmacy contract moving toward delivering positive patient
outcomes, it is more important now than ever to provide services to
patients. Pharmacy services provide the opportunity to make clinical
interventions into the health of your patients, as well as being a
source of revenue. It is imperative that all services are delivered in a
professional manner and claimed correctly.
Please ensure that:
• You follow any SOPs and Patient Group Directives (PGDs) as
appropriate
• The appropriate leaflets are displayed in the shop and consultation
room, based on services provided by your branch (e.g., Travel health,
flu jabs, etc.)
• The consultation room door displays all the services available from
your branch, with an NHS logo used for any that are funded by the
Health Service
• Your local healthcare leaflet is available in the shop with a label
showing the correct branch details attached
• All branch colleagues know how to engage patients in the services
that you offer, as well as how to claim for these services
