PATIENT RETURNED
MEDICATION
It is essential that returned medication is disposed of promptly
and not allowed to build up in the dispensary. Not only does this
medication take up much needed space, but it also increases the risk
of these drugs being used again in error.
Please ensure that:
• Medication is received from the patient using the plastic tray
provided
• Any sharps, controlled drugs or chemicals are dealt with
appropriately
• The medication is disposed of immediately
