course of employment. Precision Underground carries Workers’
Compensation Insurance for all employees and pays the entire cost of
the insurance Program. An employee who suffers an injury or illness
in connection with the job is usually eligible to receive payment
through the insurance company for lost wages. In addition, to
disability payments, necessary hospital, medical, and surgical expenses
are covered under Workers’ Compensation, with payments being made
directly to the hospital or physician. Workers’ Compensation benefits
to injured workers also include assistance to help qualified injured
employees return to suitable employment.
Designated Medical Provider
Precision Underground has established Sanford OccMed as
the company’s Designated Medical Provider (DMP) to treat work-
related injuries. The Sanford OccMed clinics provide the knowledge
and training to work specifically with occupational injuries. This
professional knowledge in work-related injuries enhances the
implementation of appropriate treatment plans including the use of the
job as part of the recovery process and positively impact the healing
process.

Precision Underground’s DMP selection does not apply to emergency
treatment, treatment the employee did not know was related to
compensable injury or care directed by the ND Workforce Safety &
Insurance. The employee also has a right to select the clinic and/or
doctor of their choice; however, this must be completed in writing prior
to the injury.
Return to Work Policy
Precision Underground strives to assist employees to return to
work as soon as possible following an injury or illness; however, this
