General Statement
The Company is committed to providing a safe workplace. It
is the employee’s responsibility to take steps to promote safety in the
workplace and work in a safe manner. By remaining safety conscious,
employees can protect themselves and their coworkers. Employees are
expected to promptly report all unsafe working conditions, accidents
and injuries, regardless of how minor so that any potential hazards can
be corrected.
Stop Work Authority
On every jobsite there will be a competent person, by virtue of
training or experience, who will have authority to stop work.
Additionally, all employees have stop work authority for their
immediate task if they are aware of a safety hazard that cannot be
immediately corrected. If an employee stops work for an unresolved
safety hazard, the supervisor will be contacted immediately.
Employees who are fulfilling their obligation to stop work when
warranted will not receive any form of retribution or intimidation from
our company or the company whom we are working.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Hazards exist in every workplace in many different forms:
sharp edges, falling objects, flying sparks, chemicals, noise and a
myriad of other potentially dangerous situations. The Occupational
Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires that employers
protect their employees from workplace hazards that can cause injury.
All PPE clothing and equipment should be of safe design and
construction and should be maintained in a clean and reliable fashion.
OSHA requires that many categories of PPE meet or be equivalent to
standards developed by the American National Standards Institute
(ANSI).
Employees and visitors are required to wear the following PPE:
• Hard Hats: These are to protect the individuals from injuries
caused by falling objects. Hard hats also are designed to keep
workers heads cool in summer months. Precision
