Use of Company Vehicles
Precision Underground owned/leased/rented vehicles are for
business use only. The term vehicles include trucks, trailers, and
equipment. Spouses, other family members, and friends of employees
are strictly prohibited from using company vehicles for any reason. Use
is defined as entering a vehicle for any purpose, whether as a passenger
in the cab or bed, both are prohibited to avoid any insurance liability
or compliance issues.
Requirements:
All drivers must have a current valid driver’s license from their state
of residency and provide Precision with information on their driving
record. Any change in license status or driving record must be reported
to the Project Manager or General Manager immediately.
All employees will be required to maintain a valid operator’s license
and provide a copy to the Office Manager before operating any
company vehicle. Our insurance carrier requires a license check be run
with your respective states Department of Motor Vehicles and the
carrier maintains the right to refuse coverage to employees who do not
meet their standards. Any employee refused coverage by the insurance
carrier will not be permitted to operate any company vehicle.
Precision Underground truck drivers must hold a Commercial Drivers
License (CDL). Employees not meeting this cannot drive company
trucks requiring CDL licensing and/or to transport equipment. All field
employees are encouraged to pursue their Commercial Driver’s
license.
Accidents:
Should an employee become involved in an accident where they are at
fault, while using a company vehicle, they are responsible for the
insurance deductible.
Should an employee be involved in an accident where fault is not
attached, while using a company vehicle for business use, he or she
