may be responsible for the insurance deductible and for providing a
suitable vehicle for business use until the company vehicle has been
repaired and returned to service, if the accident was due to employee
negligence.
All accidents and/or damage to company vehicles must be reported
immediately to your Project Manager and General Manager. Failure to
report accidents and/or damage may result in disciplinary action up to
and including termination. All required accident reports must be
completed and the employee may be required to testify in court or other
proceedings involving accidents. An Employee Injury/Near Miss
Report is provided in all company vehicles and must be used to capture
and provide the required information to the company.
Usage and Maintenance:
When an employee is using a personal vehicle on company business,
or using a company vehicle, the wearing of seat belts, at all times, by
all occupants is mandatory. When an employee is using a personal
vehicle on company business, or using a company vehicle, he/she must
not use or have used or consumed illegal drugs, or any prescription
drugs, unless specifically instructed by the prescribing physician that
the prescription drugs will not affect driving performance. While
operating a personal vehicle on company business or using a company
vehicle, an employee shall not use or have alcoholic beverages during
or prior to operation.
Company vehicles and equipment are to only be filled with fuel or gas
using the company issued Fuel cards. Receipts are required to verify
purchases. Unauthorized purchases will be deducted from payroll.
Receipts must be submitted to the business office weekly. Refer to the
fuel card instructions for further details on its use.
Employees must complete the Vehicle Inspection Report daily before
use of the designated vehicle. The top copy of the report is to be turned
in to the office regularly. The employee must report all problems
encountered during the operating of the vehicle to the Shop Mechanic
and to their respective Project Manager. The term operating condition
is defined as; free of any operating defects and with a dirt free exterior
and all tools, trash and personal items removed from the interior.
