• Hydrovac: Employees must wear boots and gloves with he
appropriate Electrical Hazard Rating when operating the
hydrovac.
Hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, and hearing protection are
provided to employees by the employer. Employees are responsible
for these items once issued. Loss of an individual’s PPE will result in
issuance of that PPE item and the cost deducted from the employee’s
payroll. Please notify the Safety/Asset Manager if a piece of safety
equipment needs to be replaced because it is worn and defective. Upon
termination or exit from the Company, the employee shall return all
issued PPE to the Company. (See employee release form). If the PPE
is not returned the Company will charge the employee replacement
value on their last paycheck based on OSHA compliance.
Employee Safety Training and Requirements
Employees in non-office positions will be required to have
safety training related to their responsibility with the company and/or
the job sites an employee is authorized to work on. Below is a list of
required training employees must complete within the first year of
employment or upon promotion from one position to another.
Safety Training Related to Position:
• Laborer: OSHA 10 (Certified), CPR/First Aid
• Operator: OSHA 10 (Certified), CPR/First Aid
• Mechanic: OSHA 10 (Certified), CPR/First Aid
• Foreman, Field Supervisor and Project Managers:
OSHA 30 (Certified), CPR/First Aid (Certified), Job Safety
Analysis (JSA), Competent Person Training
Safety Training Related to Job Sites:
• Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA)
Part 48 Surface: Contractor may require this training
for any employee working on a mine site.
Precision Underground holds weekly safety meetings for all
employees. The meetings may include but are not limited to:
