While employed with the Company, an employee who has an accident,
that does not end in termination of employment, will be ineligible for
the full amount of the year-end bonus. See End of Year Bonus Program
for further information.
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Requirements
The North Dakota commercial driver license requirements in
compliance with the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act requires
minimum testing standards for the licensing of commercial drivers.
You must have a commercial driver license (CDL) to operate:
• A single vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating or gross
vehicle weight of 26,001 pounds or more, whichever is
greater.
• A combination vehicle with a gross combination weight
rating or gross combination weight of 26,001 pounds or more,
whichever is greater, provided the towed unit has a gross
vehicle weight rating or gross vehicle weight of 10,001
pounds or more, whichever is greater.
• Any vehicle that transports hazardous materials requiring
placarding or any quantity of a material listed as a select agent
or toxin in 42 CPR part 73.
A special endorsement is required to drive any:
• Tank vehicle
• Double/tripe trailer combination
• Placarded vehicle transporting hazardous materials or wastes,
or material listed as a select agent or toxin in 42 CFR part 73.
An individual driving without a CDL, or suspended CDL, may incur a
civil penalty or, in aggravated cases, criminal penalties. An employer
is also subject to a penalty if they knowingly permit a driver to operate
a commercial motor vehicle without a valid CDL.
Precision Underground in compliance with the Commercial Motor
Vehicle Safety Act requires all employees that are operating a
commercial motor vehicle that meets the definitions above must have
a CDL. Foreman, Supervisors, and Managers that knowingly allow
