Native American women were more than just mothers of the tribes’
children. They were builders, warriors, farmers, and master
craftsmen. Many Native American tribes believed that women had
more healing power and were able to soothe ill souls with their
chants and connection to the spirit world. These strong women
were influencers, matriarchal leaders, senior managers of their community, and held important political,
social and economic power.
