The reference I had for this piece had the man
holding a pair of glasses. The look I saw in his
eyes however expressed a treasured, yet
melancholy remembrance.
My inspiration for the piece? Humanity’s yearning for someone to see them as longingly and fondly as
this gentleman is recalling someone he has loved, and who is now perhaps but a memory. Who is in the
locket? When you try to see what he is seeing, what speaks to you?
