direction of where Auntie Debs used to live. They didn’t need to pedal
downhill and they were going so fast that the wind in their faces blew their hair
straight back. Unfortunately, good things come to an end and soon they had to
start the climb up and past where Auntie Debs lived when they were little.
“I wish Harry was here to give me a tow like that time up the hill by Grandpa’s
farm”, said Ellie.
“We can always get off and push”, replied Bells.
“Let’s do that then”, said Ellie.
They dismounted and started to push their bicycles up the hill. The hill seemed
to go on and on.
“This is making me hungry”, said Ellie.
“Eat a sweet then!” said Bells.
After some time, they came to a junction. Bells consulted the map.
“We need to turn right here, otherwise we will end up on that really fast main
road that goes to Canterbury”, said Bells who was very pleased with herself for
reading the map. They had only gone a very short distance before the road
dropped away and they were flying down a hill again. It was steep but short
and then rose up again so quite soon they had to pedal hard.
As they pedalled they looked at the wonderful countryside and the farm animals
in the fields. We are so lucky to live here, thought Bells. Just then she noticed
a ewe that seemed to be trapped on its back.
“Stop, Ellie. There is a sheep over there that I think needs our help”, cried Bells
pointing into the field.
