“Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant, Harry” said his Daddy.

               “Fantastic drive”, said James.

“Thank you but I couldn’t have done it without your help” replied a very happy

               Harry.

They packed up their things and loaded the kart back on the trailer. Then they
went back to the secretary’s area to find out the results of the three races.

“And now the results for the under 10s. In third place, Jonny Cribbs. In second
place, Harry Geering. The overall winner is Bobby Shortbottom”, read out the
               secretary over the tannoy.

Harry could not believe that he had done so well. Everyone in the Geering
               camp was just overjoyed.

So, chatting excitedly about the day, they set off for home.

Harry couldn’t contain himself and just had to call his mummy to tell her about
               his success.

“Harry Geering, you never cease to amaze me”, said his mummy.

Chapter 14. Bells and Ellie go cycling

It was a fine April morning. The sun shone and it was a bit warmer. Spring had
at last arrived after a cold wet winter. Bells and Ellie decided to go on a bicycle

ride. Mummy packed them a picnic. Daddy checked the tyres on each bicycle.
Ellie was put in charge of the mobile phone in case they needed to call for help.
They then packed their rucksacks, put on their coats, climbed onto their bikes
and were ready to set off. Bells had a map to follow so she would lead. She
showed Mummy and Daddy where they were going. The route would take
them along quiet lanes through the countryside.

“Watch out for cars coming too fast and tractors that take up the width of the
               road”, said Mummy.

“Of course we will”, said Bells.

They set off and Mummy and Daddy waved to them as they rode down the hill
towards the main road. At the main road, they turned left and followed it for a
short distance before turning right up through the houses and past the pub.
They pedalled on and it was not long before they came to the crossroads that

was the end of Lyminge. They crossed over and sped down the hill in the
