Harry.

Jack raised his flag and everyone revved up. Down went his flag and all the

karts flew down the track towards the first bend. Harry followed the kart in
front so he could gain his confidence. He didn’t want to be too clever right at
the start. As they approached the second corner a kart cut inside him and closed
in on the kart in front. As they came to the next corner, the same driver did
exactly the same to the kart Harry thought he would follow. That driver knows

what he is doing, thought Harry. Still Harry persevered following the kart in
front.

Three laps down and Harry thought that there may be enough power in his
engine to try overtaking the kart in front. As the next corner approached, he cut
inside and just managed to nose in front. He was very pleased with himself. He
chased down the next kart but the race soon came to an end. He pulled into the

pit. James and Harry congratulated him on a brilliant drive.

“Right, Harry, you have twenty minutes to prepare for the next race,” said his
daddy.
