Supplementary Subject Learning Area of Foreign Languages
Secondary 1 Semester 2 Time Allocation 40 hours 1 credit
Students will effectively learn and understand English use in daily life. Providing content-rich topics in
every unit, extensive opportunities to practice natural English, integrated skills, and a wide variety of engaging
speaking activities. The students will develop adequate speaking skills to communicate effectively to follow
academic courses. The students will be equipped with necessary speaking and writing skills through integration
of other skills. They will be able to develop important writing skills that will enable them to produce academic
texts required in their studies. The students will expand their vocabulary so as to enhance their proficiency in
writing, and speaking to academic texts.
The teaching procedures introduced in this course focus on necessary strategies for successful
independent learning. By using the process of thinking capacity, communication capacity, problem-solving
capacity and capacity for applying life skills, the students improve themselves and become better generally.
The students would develop vital skills in analysis, problem-solving by going through the processes of
developing the knowledge acquired with the lesson and use these skills in daily life situations and develop
thinking skills toward the 21st century.
The course also enables students to instill the desirable characteristics, Love of nation, religion and
king, Honesty and integrity, Self-discipline, Avidity for learning, Observance of principles of Sufficiency Economy
Philosophy in one’s way of life, Dedication and commitment to work, Cherishing Thai-ness, Public mindedness
and be Healthy and well-balanced.
