❖ According to the process of the final measurement, quantitative analysis can be
              classified into:

➢ It depends on measuring the volume of the standard

            (1) Volumetric Analysis reacted with the sample. It has different types based on the
(Titrimetric Analysis) type of reaction involved in the titration including:
                     (Titration):
                                                 acid-base, precipitation, complex-formation & redox titrations.

➢ It depends on measuring the weight of a final precipitate
                 (2) Gravimetric
Analysis: that is equivalent to the sample.

                (3) Instrumental ➢ It depends on analyzing the sample using an instrument.
                      Analysis:

                                                   Volumetric Analysis

                                        (= Titrimetric Analysis = Titration)

✓ It is a method of quantitative analysis that depends on measuring the

volume of a solution of known concentration (standard solution)

needed to react completely with a sample of unknown concentration.
             Defintion
✓ In its simplest form, the titration is done by placing the standard

solution (Titrant) in the burette and the sample of unknown

concentration is placed in a conical flask.

✓ Analyte is the component of the sample that is determined, and it is
