Constructivist - Mobile Learning Classroom
In this re-designed classroom, one subject has been picked as an example:
Three lecturers are assigned to teach Final Year Project for a class that has 30 students. Each of the lecturers is
required to assist 2 groups that have 5 students in each group. These students will be given a short brief on how
problem-based learning class works following the breakdown structured by Szymanski. Class learning outcomes
have also been briefed to the students.
Once the students understood the steps to be taken, from identifying the problem, gather all facts and
information, learning the issues, and applying all the knowledge to solve the problem. The lecturer will assist the
group they assigned in this classroom environment as the facilitator that will guide the students to get the answer
until the students managed to create solutions to the problem.
Mobile technology will be used to integrate with this learning process such as Web Browser, Whatsapp, Zoom,
Facebook to foster students learning as a tool to gather information, communicate, have a video meeting and even
consultation with the lecturers remotely.
Web Browser – to gather information and collect data
Whatsapp – Whatsapp group created offers quick updates among students and lecturers to share information
Trello App – make the task easier to distribute and monitored by all.
Zoom – used to have face to face video meeting or discussion among the group of students remotely since their
project might need them to be on site.
Facebook – Facebook can be utilized to promote and update their project they work on to reach more audiences
or followers who interested in that topic. This promotes community-students interaction that gives them real
experience.
Google Drive – can be implemented to store files and sharing in the fastest way.
