Conclusions
In conclusion and as mentioned earlier, there are computer labs in universities
with a percentage of 89%, and 58% of these computers have Web access. Some
universities use LAN (57.10%), and others use WAN (14.30%). The universities use
different ways to access the Internet, but the phone lines are most common because
it was first used (65%). Also, there are wireless modem services companies like ‘Canar.’
7% of these Universities have official websites. 67% of these sites in both Arabic and
English languages, and the rest only in the Arabic language, 42% of these sites
providing services for students such as basic information about the University sector
and degrees and other services, these universities and colleges offer various computer
training courses and technology the following. Finally, 17% of these Universities
provide global training courses like international computer driving license ICDL (1217
students).
Recommendations
• Create university centers of excellence in the ICT
To ensure the training of the next generation of technology leaders; have
elitist programs in approved universities and attention must be focused in regards
to the private higher education program of ICT information technology
management rather than concentrated on the technical training process itself.
Sudan needs to prospective leaders have the readiness to apply the ICT to support
modernization in government institutions and private sector organizations.
• Establish a National network for scientific research
Educational networks are a vital part of the Internet, and Sudan needs a
national educational and scientific research network to improve the exchange of
information between the various bodies and institutions within its borders and
