iii. They refused to stoop to be
instructed by those whom they
termed heathen, because it will
prove that they were not the only
source of the truth from God and
the audacity of God to pass them by
to communicate with ignorant
shepherds and uncircumcised
Gentiles.
iv. Their hearts and minds were filled
with so much hatred and contempt
that they refused to go to
Bethlehem to see whether these
things were so. And instead, they
led the people, those who would
listen, to regard as fanatical, the
report of the Messiah’s birth.
18. Their stubborn pride grew into settled,
jealous hatred of the Saviour, closing the
door of light to themselves.
