23. They were prepared to return to King
Herod in Jerusalem to tell him all that
they had seen and heard because they
didn’t know his plans to harm the Child
Jesus.
24. In a dream they received a divine
message to hold no further
communication with King Herod, so they
chose another route home.
25. Joseph had a similar dream warning him
to leave Bethlehem and flee to Egypt, for
King Herod “will seek the young Child to
destroy Him.” Joseph wasted no time
and set out on the journey by night for
greater security.
