26. God used:

i. Their inquiries in Jerusalem.

ii. The jealously of King Herod.

iii. The actions of the priests and

rabbis.

27. Because of the priest and rabbis’

unwillingness to point out the Messiah’s

birthplace, King Herod became

suspicious thinking they had figured out

his plans and warned the wise men. And

the longer he waited, the angrier he

became until he finally decided to use

force to show the Jews what they could

expect if they tried to force him off the

throne. In a jealous rage, He sent

soldiers at once to Bethlehem with

orders to put to death all the male

children two years of age and under.
