WILLIAM CAPE NEWS

There certainly has been a chill in the air the last few mornings to
remind us that winter has arrived. Most of our residents and staff Grand Kids Day fun
have received their annual influenza vaccinations by now to give us all
the best chance of preventing the flu and associated illness.
It will be exciting to welcome back Cathy Blomquist to William Cape
Gardens on 17 June as Director of Care Services. As you may
remember, Cathy was our Director of Care for three years until August
2018 and she is returning. Cathy is looking forward to reacquainting
herself with our residents, families and staff, as well as meeting our
newcomers.
I would like to remind you that our Clinical Care Managers and I have
an open‐door policy. If you would like to meet with us at any time to Arts n Craft
discuss any concerns please feel free to do so.
We are pleased to welcome our new Chef, Sue Doak. Sue brings with
her 8 years’ experience in aged care food services. She will be working
alongside our Group Executive Chef, Ashley Thomson to ensure a
quality dining experience. Sue is happy to meet with residents
individually to discuss any preferences and special food requests.
It has been a busy couple of months with the election and our
refurbishment plans starting to take place (how exciting). More
information about the refurbishment is on page 3 of this newsletter Sam on ANZAC Day
and we will continue to keep you updated on our plans.
We are continually looking for opportunities to improve our care and
services and your feedback is invaluable. I am always happy to meet
with you to discuss any concerns you may have.
Kind regards,
Lisa Forbes, Acting Director of Care Services
