Answer 7.

            Í 7 3 Ì A K J 8 3 2 Ë A J 3 Ê 6 2

Again you have 13 points and a chunky heart suit. Open 1Ì.
When partner responds 1Í your only option is to bid 2Ì. Partner
should work out that this is a 6 card suit in a minimum hand (10-15) and
be in a good position to take the correct action.
Why must it be 6? You have not got 4 cards in diamonds or clubs.
You have not got 4 spades or even 3 if you are minimum. You have not
got a balanced hand else you would have opened 1NT or rebid 1NT.

        Answer 8.

            Í K 7 Ì A K J 10 3 2 Ë A K 3 Ê 6 2

Now a similar hand as the last one but this time you have extra values.
We still begin 1Ì and over 1Í we jump to 3Ì. Again this shows a 6 card
suit but this time you have extra values.
