South can bid their longest suit but, again with 4-4 chooses the major.
Now North forgets the notrump option as the suit contract looks
better. It is correct to raise and the jump will show the extra values. He
must not jump to 4 because, if South is a minimum of 6 points the three
level will be quite enough. This bid is NOT forcing.
South selects the game with extra values.

so opens his suit. He has a major and a Ê A J 4 Ê K 10 9 3 2
minor and so opens the major.
South’s longest suit is clubs. However, with only 7 points he should
not bid at the two level and so chooses 1NT (“the bucket bid”).
With only 15 points and a balanced hand North can almost guarantee
there is no game on and passes.

South, again is out of the range for 1NT and opens his suit.
North has 11 points and so can bid at the 2 level and bids 2Ê. Notice
he does not bid hearts because this is a special case. 2Ì over a 1Í opening
guarantees a 5 CARD SUIT at least.
South now bids 2NT showing 15-19 points and a balanced hand. It
denies a four card heart suit and as partner is 10+ it is game forcing.
North has an easy raise to 3NT.
