After we have identified problems of thermal desalination, we will use solar energy
to increase its efficiency and to produce more water from the same amount of
seawater. We will use concentrated solar power parabolic solar collectors that are

used to collect sun rays to heat seawater.

1.1.3 Solar energy in the Middle East

The Middle East, Arabia, and the Gulf countries have very high solar radiation
potential, especially for direct solar radiation or Direct Normal Irradiance (DNI), the
fraction of solar radiation that is not deviated by clouds, fumes, or dust in the
atmosphere and that reaches the Earth’s surface as a parallel beam.[3]

For example, Jordan has more than 300 sunny days a year providing a sunshine

duration of about 3125 hours per year.

exploit solar energy projects.
