1. Tie a double figure eight in the leader, and rotate the knot at this
stage so the concave loops curve up, making it easier to complete
this knot.
2. Double your other leader material, and thread the doubled loop in
and out, through the two loops of the figure eight, as shown here.
Draw the figure eight a little tighter—but not too tight. The next step
is to wrap the joining leader material five times up the other leader
material (A).
3. Now wrap the doubled line four times back to the overhand knot
connection, threading it through the first loop you made (B).
4. Pull tight, slowly and deliberately securing the knot, and trim the tag
ends. This is what the finished knot should look like.
