Crawford Knot
1. Holding the hook shank with your left hand, run the tag end through
the hook eye and bring the end back underneath and around the
standing line. Pass the tag end in front of the loop and back around
through the loop, as shown here. Moisten the knot with saliva and
pull the tag end down.
2. Now firmly hold the hook and pull the tag end to tighten the loop of
line in the finished knot, against the hook eye. Clip the excess.
