Conventional Tackle Knots

Steve was the longtime editor of North American Fisherman magazine,
the publication of the North American Fishing Club, for which he was also
executive director. (Full disclosure: I worked with Steve and another
excellent editor named Kurt Beckstrom at the magazine in 1995.) He also

was the host of several fishing television shows through the years, and
he oversaw and hosted the series Knot Wars, which pitted two knots tied
with braided, monofilament, and fluorocarbon line on a knot-testing
machine to prove which was stronger with each line type. Knot Wars
became a top paid sports app when it was launched in 2010. The knots
