sky. His eyes tracked the movement of the clouds—large, gray, and sweeping quickly
across the sea toward Sweden on the other side of the sound.
Inwardly, Edward exhaled a sigh of relief. The clouds seemed harmless, moving fast and
away from their course. Shaking off his unease, he called out loudly to Phoebe so she
could hear him over the wind.
“What do you think "Great, Dad, super great, great view!"
Edward and Elvira exchange a look, their smiles matching in satisfaction. It was exactly
what they both dreamed of hearing.
From below in the galley, Victoria’s voice calls up.
"It won’t be long before you can come down for tea and taste some of grandma’s
homemade cakes."
"That sounds good, honey," Edward replies, sending her a finger kiss.
It’s a big thing in the family. Victoria bakes all kinds of cakes, and Edward bakes rye bread.
Both of them agree that buying bread is too expensive and not nearly as good as making it
themselves. They’re a baking family, as both Edward and Victoria often say.
Edward’s gaze returns to the sea, his eyes scanning the shifting clouds and the various
boats scattered across the water. Most of them are sailboats, and a few small, brightly
colored fishing dinghies are anchored nearby. Their rounded, old-fashioned shapes have
fishing rods hanging off the railings, waiting for a catch. The scene is slow and lazy, but
Edward knows they’re all enjoying themselves.
He also notices several large motorboats further out, their engines humming steadily. One
particularly large yacht catches his attention—it’s coming toward them, but at a slow,
controlled pace. Just as he thinks it will pass by, the boat turns toward them, then changes
course and moves away.
Edward looks back to the bow, where little Naja is excitedly pointing at the boats, shouting,
"Look!"
"Look, Grandpa!"
As they continue their journey, they approach a place called Bellevue. It’s a popular
bathing area that has undergone a significant expansion and modernization in recent
years.
