The Tale of Tom
The plane leaves from Munich Airport with a light motion. The time is exactly
15.30, and none of the three Danish investigators says anything. They sit in the
front seats of the aircraft - business class of course. Olina sits by the window,
watching the snow-capped landscape slowly disappearing from beneath them.
"Did you find out something?" she says as the light is back on in the cabin after
take off.
Tom sits on the seat next to her and Ahmed on the seat opposite seat, the seat
next to Ahmed is empty. Karin and Helle will fly back later, since they have more
business to do.
“Safety above all,” is the mantra of the PTS. It is not possible that all
investigators are gathered in one plane, in case that something happens."
Tom is newly shaved with new ropes on after taking a bath at the airport. After
all, his clothes were dirty after he stayed in the bunker. A German officer had
been instructed to go out and find matching clothes for him in the shops in the
Arrivals Hall in Munich Airport.
"I’ll have a shower while you find me new clothes. I require the same kind of
garments, Burberry and Polo and the likes," he said. "I'll be back in a moment"
About 15 minutes later, Mark, the German civilian officer, returned to the
bathroom with a heavy bag of clothes, containing a white shirt, a black Burberry
leather jacket, a pair of Armani jeans, socks, underpants and a soft dark
burgundy scarf of silk.
"It all fits perfectly, thanks," said Tom as soon as he had tried it on.
Back in the plane, Tom is asking about the affairs of the PST and Kräsen. “Yes, I
know there’s something about this whole case that stinks, and as I've said before,
this is not an easy nut to crack. Maybe it’s even impossible - and we may have to
let them go, both the Dane and whoever else who’s involved. But then again, it's
all up to Bjørn. He’s the decider. Kräsen's owner, Gustav Kräsen, is tangled up in
dirty business, but exactly what, we still don't know. ”
With a whispering voice, he continues: “Since we, the PST, showcased our
muscle and manpower on the Kräsen premises, they have been giving us signals
that they want the power structure to change. They want to show us who has the
