work that Olina and I have done. What’s really interesting is that I drove to an
area that is probably about two kilometres from the Kräsen ranch. According to
the old records, and what I later found out, there has been some activity on the
farm during World War II. It was even more obvious that during the war the
farm itself had taken over a number of other farms in the area, almost every
neighbouring ranch. I will refer to these surrounding farms as the rural area.
This means, that the Kräsen ranch, already being huge in size, became even
larger, ever expanding. All the properties still belong to the Kräsen family to this
day. There are conveyances, title deeds and so on, but there is no evidence that
they have been legally traded at any point. I followed the instructions from the
old documents, which are found both in the state archives, as well in the police
archives, where, according to the papers, a work camp should have been set up. I
drove out there and walked the rest of the way down to a country road near a
field, which looked fairly unexploited. The area is massively barred, and here we
are talking about, hmm, an area of 2 to 3 hectares of plain fields.
I managed to pass the barricade and then enter a deserted giant building site,
which starts about half a second to a couple of kilometres walk from the fence.
The construction site consists of huge cranes, cars, hoists and everything that is
normally needed for a large building. But what are most startling are the three
large bunker plants. You have to imagine that everything stands as if it had
suddenly been abandoned 70 years ago. Before I’ll go further in to investigate the
nearest bunker, then I looked for any activity. The only thing that indicates that
there have been humans in this place is a passage that leads to the bunker I was
going towards. From there, my investigation stops because as soon as I stepped
into the bunker, someone slamming the door behind me, and they caught me
there red-handed. The rest is history. ”
"Terrifying indeed… and suspicious. No doubt they’ve been used for nasty in
war time," Bjørn adds.
Tom takes a short break and takes a few sips of his wine before continuing
telling his story.
“The thing is, that we need to make them a visit again, to go out there again and
take pictures and make records, scan the area thoroughly and get everything
examined - this time without any surprises.” Tom starts gesticulating and
