left of the knot. Pass the end of this cord under,

two opposing corners with two cords entering

the centre horizontal bight to each side of the
square, make up the remaining four sections.
5 We now return down the first stroke of the
letter ‘W’, passing under, under the second
colour cord, followed by over, under the first
cord, then again under, under the second cord
and over, under the first cord.
The finished Chrysanthemum Knot shows
the same structure as the Chinese Pan
Chang but is made with two cords instead
of one, thereby allowing the shape of the
knot to be seen more clearly.
