Noticing Us in Programs

What: Noticing Us program daily routine checklist (part of NNN Daily checklist):

Getting Ready  Post: Today’s Noticing Us picture (SEL theme)
checklist  Find: Overlap between Noticing Us & Noticing New

Noticing Us  Show: Today’s Noticing Us theme.
checklist  Start: *SEL DISCUSSION as follows:
 Bridge: Noticing New + Noticing Us
 Ask: 1-2 questions from the back of the picture.
 Ask: “What did you learn? How & when can you use this?”
 Bridge: See you next time type your next lesson

Leaders daily Noticing Us routine:

1. Show the Noticing Us picture for the day (see
example to the right). Each picture will include a
theme word for the day. This picture should be
posted before participants arrive, and leaders
should encourage participants to look at it and
think about the theme as a part of their
welcome routine.
2. Facilitate the Noticing Us discussion using the
following steps:
a. Bridge your Noticing New activity, and
show how the theme of the day was
relevant to that activity.
b. Ask 1-2 questions from the back of the
Noticing Us picture. Facilitate the conversation so that participants can contribute their
ideas, be curious about the topic, and understand the skill they have learned.
c. Ask the participants to share what they learned and how they can use this skill.
