Lesson Flow:
1. Introduction (5 minutes)
Welcome the students and introduce the topic of the lesson: developing
listening skills through audio podcasts.
Explain what podcasts are and their relevance in language learning.
2. Understanding Audio Podcasts (10 minutes)
Define what podcasts are and provide examples of popular podcasts in
English.
Discuss the benefits of using podcasts for language learning, such as
exposure to authentic language, diverse topics, and accessibility.
3. Listening Activities (25 minutes)
Activity 1: Select a short segment from a podcast relevant to the students'
interests or the lesson's theme. Play the segment once for students to get a general
understanding.
Activity 2: Replay the segment and ask students to jot down keywords or
phrases they hear.
Activity 3: Play the segment again, pausing at intervals to discuss
comprehension questions related to the content.
Activity 4: Divide students into pairs or small groups and have them
discuss their understanding of the segment and share any new vocabulary they've
learned.
Activity 5: Provide a follow-up task, such as summarizing the segment in
their own words or discussing their opinions on the topic presented.
4. Reflection and Conclusion (10 minutes)
Reflect on the listening activities: discuss any challenges students
encountered and how they overcame them.
Recap the importance of regular practice in developing listening skills and
encourage students to continue listening to podcasts outside of class.

heard.
