Project: Aqua America Testing Laboratory
Laboratory Design
Client: Bernardon / Aqua America
Building Area: 15,000 s.f.
Completion: Spring 2021
As Aqua America expands their service area
and testing capabilities, they need expanded
laboratories.
Zimmerman Studio LLC worked with Aqua to
develop a program for the laboratories, and
completed multiple test-fit plans to determine how
the expanded labs fit into existing office buildings
and at Aqua’s headquarters. Aqua decided to
retain the labs on their campus, in an addition.
ZS provided a conceptual design for the new
building, and continued as the laboratory
architect. Bernardon is the Architect of Record.
ZS worked closely with the Laboratory Managers
to develop labs specific to Aqua. Existing Water Quality Reseach Laboratory
equipment was surveyed and located within new
spaces. Each laboratory includes work areas to
promote collaboration and productivity
