STRUCTURAL DOCUMENT DEVELOPMENT
We understand REVIT will be utilized to produce the Construction Documents for this
project. The digital files are not intended for use for construction dimensioning, such as
shop drawings, layouts, etc., but the files can be made available to the contractor for
informational purposes, provided such use is at the contractor’s own risk and is subject to
the execution of DCI+MacINTOSH ’s standard digital media agreement. We have made
the assumptions outlined in the attached document “Building Information Modeling (BIM)
– Structural Design Scope of Services“ regarding the development of the structural
model.
ASSUMPTIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS OF PROPOSAL
1. DCI+MacINTOSH assumes a geotechnical study will be made available before 50 1
design commences. The report should include a description of soil types, condition, 350+ 16
stability, bearing capacity, seismic site class, and groundwater conditions. The report states licensed in Motto:
should also provide recommendations for structural design criteria and subgrade employees
preparation. We are assuming the site is suitable for conventional spread footings. nationwide offices (+ multiple Canadian Service, Innovation,
2. The Primary Structural Frame will be designed to support typical mechanical, provinces) Value
electrical, plumbing, fire protection and building maintenance equipment. Delay or
late selection of these systems may require additional fees if structural design
modifications are required. Design of lateral bracing or anchorage for any of the MEP
or fire protection systems are not included but may be provided as an Additional
Service.
3. Our Construction Administration fees do not cover the correction of construction
errors or design changes made after the start of construction.
4. We have assumed 12 months of construction time to complete the Project DCI+MacINTOSH has been providing client-focused structural and civil engineering services for 33 years. Our office
