STRATA III SYMPHONY
Allentown, Pennsylvania
Structural design services for a new six-story mixed-use building.
The building includes four-stories of wood-framed residential
construction over a two-story steel and concrete-framed parking
structure. The building is 50,000 SF of parking area with 100,000
SF of residential space, featuring twelve two-story lofts with
private rooftop decks. The building also includes an elevated
courtyard, parking garage, fitness center, and 1,000- sf ground-
floor retail.
ROLE: Structural Engineer STRATA III’s design puts the main entrance on Sixth Street,
ARCHITECT: WRT adjacent to the ArtsWalk and alongside Miller Symphony Hall,
DEVELOPER: City Center Investment Corp. There is 104 parking spots available to residents and downtown
CONTRACTOR: North Start Construcon visitors, with entrances on Sixth and Law streets. The pet-friendly
COMPLETION DATE: 2017 building includes a resident lounge and an outdoor patio with a
NUMBER OF UNITS: 71 fire pit and grill.
TOTAL SQUARE FOOTAGE: 150,000 -sf
HEIGHT: 6-stories The STRATA buildings (STRATA I (West) and STRATA II (East),

that make up the $500 million spent to revitalize Allentown. In

the success of STRATA I & II by following a similar development
model. The project will add to the City’s continued efforts to
revamp Center City Lehigh Valley.
Each year, ULI’s Global Awards for Excellence nominate twenty-
five developments from around the world that promote
responsible land use and make use of community longevity and
sustainability.
The project was one of 25 real estate projects worldwide to
