     In 1963, a ten-ton granite
    rock was moved from
Harstine Island to Tumwater
   Falls Park. The rock was
inscribed with centuries-old
tribal petroglyphs depicting a
 bear, a mountain, the sun,
and a bow and arrow. The
 rock graced the entrance of
   the park office for many
years, until it was returned to
  the Squaxin Tribe in 2008.
